Located about 150 meters from the Osaka Nakanoshima Museum of Art, "heys" is a new coffee shop planned along the Tosabori River. The facade is composed entirely of operable glass sashes, with large openings on both the north and south sides, ensuring clear visibility from outside while maximizing natural light. A projecting volume spans both inside and outside of the facade, forming bench seating that can be used from either side, thereby extending the spatial experience.

The interior is defined by a combination of vivid colors and sharp detailing. This interplay of lightness and tension creates an atmosphere free from distinctions of gender or social attributes, producing a flat and inclusive ambience that embodies the brand's core concept of "no separation." This idea is also reflected in the spatial programming, which anticipates uses beyond cafe operations. For example, the low tables used with the benches during cafe hours can be stacked into a single sculptural object, allowing the space to remain visually coherent when used in a more open and flexible manner.

Material selection further underscores this openness: natural stone appears in door handles and signage, while Mino-yaki tiles are used for benches and tabletops. Rather than being confined to conventional applications, these materials transcend scale and function. The coexistence of diverse materials creates a unified texture, allowing the materials themselves to sustain the multiplicity of the space.

大阪・中之島美術館から150mほどの場所に位置する「heys」は、土佐堀川沿いに計画された新しいコーヒーショップ。ファサード全面を開閉式のガラスサッシで構成し南北2面に大きな採光面を設けることで、外部からの見通しが効き、自然光を最大限に活用できるよう計画。またサファードには内外に跨る大きなボリュームをつくり、室内からも屋外からも利用できるベンチ席とすることで、体感できる空間を拡張している。内部空間は、鮮やかな色使いとシャープなディテールの組み合わせによって構成される。軽快さと緊張感が同居する空間構成は、特定の性差や属性に区別されないフラットな空気感を生み出し、ブランドが掲げる「隔たりのなさ」を体感的に表現している。「隔たりのなさ」というコンセプトは空間用途にも現れ、カフェ営業以外の様々なシーンへの対応も想定したプランとなっている。カフェ営業時にベンチ席で用いられるローテーブルは、積み重ねることでひとつの大きなオブジェとなることで、空間をフラットに用いる際もノイズにならないボリュームとして計画した。また、ドアノブや看板に用いられる天然石、ベンチや天板に用いられる美濃焼のタイルなど、用途を限定しないマテリアルの用い方も特徴的である。異なる素材が機能やスケールを越えて共存し、統一感ある質感を生み出すことにより、素材そのものが空間の多義性を支えている。
