A renovation project for a 90㎡ apartment in Hokusetsu, Osaka. The theme is “the threshold between comfort and tension.”Composed with volumes and details that resist the conventional image of a residence, the design maximizes the existing plan while dramatically renewing its spatial quality. The daily path—from the entrance door to the bedroom—is reimagined as a sequence with a sense of drama. Particularly, elements standardized in condominium design—such as corridors and partitions—are expanded beyond their typical scale to create an effective sense of spaciousness. A 2400mm-wide sliding door between the LDK and the corridor allows the latter to function as part of the living space when opened, dissolving boundaries and enhancing flexibility. Warmth and coolness expressed through materiality, shadows drawn by the passage of light—these are dispersed throughout the home, intertwining two seemingly opposite qualities: reassurance and tension.

大阪、北摂にある90㎡のマンションリノベーション計画。“安心感と緊張感のあわい”をテーマに、住宅然としないボリュームやディテールで、全体を構成している。既存プランを最大限活かしながらドラスティックに空間性を更新することで、玄関ドアを開けてから寝室に向かうまでの生活動線をドラマチックに描いた。とりわけ、廊下や建具という分譲マンションにおける規格サイズが画一化する要素をスケールアウトさせることで、効果的に広さを感じることのできる空間とした。LDKと廊下を隔てるW2400mmのスライドドアは、開放することで廊下をひとつながりのLDKとして機能させる仕掛けとしても機能している。素材感で表現する暖かさと冷たさ、光の通り道でつくる陰影、それらを空間の中に散りばめることで、安心と緊張といった相反するふたつの要素が溶け合う家を目指した。

“安心感と緊張感のあわい”

 

自宅は、日々の疲れを癒し、心身を解きほぐす場所でありたい。でも、ただ緩やかに時間を消費するだけでは、昨日と今日の区別さえつかなくなって行く。それは、少しさびしい。

 

日曜日だけでなく、毎日やってくる明日を記憶に残る時間にしたい。鮮やかに記憶に残る時間には、いつも小さな緊張が宿っている。

 

初めて飛行機が離陸したとき。

知らない街の匂いを嗅いだとき。

冬の朝、まだ誰も歩いていない雪道を歩くとき。

 

自ら選んだ緊張は、感覚を研ぎ澄まし暮らしに彩りを与えてくれる。家族でくつろぐ日常にも、心地良い緊張感が伴うことで生活に美しいリズムが生まれるだろう。

 

日々のくらしの中で、知らぬ間に少し姿勢がよくなっているような。遊びに来てくれる友人との会話が、いつもよりなめらかになるような。

 

安心感と緊張感のあわいで過ごす時間は、きっと鮮やかな色をしている。
